via Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal
“The Business Journal‘s 19th annual Best Places to Work awards honor 67 Minnesota employers and four individuals for creating and cultivating engaged workforces.
No. 18 Extra Small: URBANWORKS ARCHITECTURE
We asked Managing Principal Tod Elkins:
Will you be hiring to increase your staff in the next six months? Yes.
What’s one word that best describes your company’s culture? Inclusive
What do you do that makes your company culture exceptional and unique from other companies? Our employees come first. Work/life balance isn’t just a catchphrase it’s the UrbanWorks way. Staff report feeling their co-workers are their second family, and the office a home away from home. We are a tight-knit group that has fun, supports each other and works as a team. If someone needs to be out, colleagues are quick to help. If a deadline is approaching, we work together to accomplish it. Our culture includes approachable leadership, flexible schedules, summer hours, paid time off to volunteer, office dogs, and a family table where the entire staff eats daily lunches and Friday breakfasts together.”
